As blacks at a certain age young men and women go to initiation school. However now at any age you could go to the school. Initiation school is place where men and women to go as part of the process of becoming adults, it includes circumcision for men.
Do you think in this time and era initiation school is relevant?
No, i don't think it's relevant because most of people who took part on the initiation school comes back and share whatever it was supposed to a secret with people who are not initiated... also it is no longer relevant because many people get killed or abused in the initiation school.

ReplyDeleteTimes have changed, much as intiation is tradition...I believe it is a very irrelevant practice in our times as it does not prepare us for the times we are living in. This is because in my own opinion I think it was intended to prepare Men and women for those times it was established in.

ReplyDeleteIn urban areas, it is not relevant because many people have made business out of initiation school and they take even underage boys who cannot even keep a sectret. In rural areas it is still relevant because they take it very seriously and they do not take underage boys.
